”I would found an institution where any person can find instruction in any study.”
-Ezra Cornell, February 23, 1868, in a letter to Andrew White, Cornell University’s First President

Why I Started This Blog
I’ve been inspired by the importance of serving others through my extraordinary experience at Cornell. As a professional in New York City, I want to highlight the tremendous work being done by organizations in NYC and beyond to improve our community and world
Starting Off: An Incredible University Experience
After being born and raised in the Midwest, I had one of the best and most transformative experiences of my life in Ithaca as a Cornell student. At Cornell, I was surrounded by incredible people who were passionately committed to growing themselves intellectually while also dedicated to improving the lives of others.

Moving to the Big Apple
After Cornell, I moved to New York City, living and working in TriBeCa as a Sales & Trading analyst at Citigroup (moving from the picturesque gorges, greenery, and deer in Ithaca to the trading floor in NYC was quite the scenery transition :). Now, I work at a hedge fund covering healthcare companies.

Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar’s Program
A photo with Peter C. Meinig (‘61) and Nancy Meinig (‘62) while celebrating Meinig Family Scholars. Mr. Meinig joined the Cornell Board of Trustees in ‘91 and served as Chairman of the Board from ‘02'-’11.
I was honored to be a Meinig Family Scholar, a leadership group representing less than 2% of Cornell students. As a scholar, I was able to spend funds towards making a difference in an organization that was meaningful to me - I chose Bottomless Closet in NYC.
Mr. and Mrs. Meinig’s generosity of time and funding inspired me to continue a lifelong pursuit of serving others - wholeheartedly doing whatever we can, wherever we can, to make a difference.
Cornell’s Sesquicentennial - Jazz at Lincoln Center (150 Years! )
The front row at Cornell’s Sesquicentennial at Jazz at Lincoln Center, sitting right next to the amazing (and hilarious) Robert Harrison (‘76), Chairman Emeritus of the Cornell Board of Trustees and CEO of the Clinton Global Initiative, along with Mr. and Mrs. Meinig a few seats down.
Such a honor to celebrate the 150th anniversary with these incredible leaders (essentially Cornell royalty :) who have deeply inspired me through their lifelong philanthropy and dedication to Cornell.
Cornell’s Prison Education Program - Graduation Ceremony at Auburn Prison
Holding the Cornell Prison Education Banner during the CPEP Graduation Ceremony at Auburn Correctional Facility, a maximum security men’s prison where I served as a Math TA
As a TA through the Cornell Prison Education Program, I was continuously inspired by my students’ tenacity and fervent desire to learn. It was humbling to carry the CPEP banner for the graduation ceremony at Auburn Correctional Facility.
Teaching at Auburn really showed me that intelligence is not enough; it further instilled in me the importance of helping to provide opportunities to others regardless of their situation in life. I believe it’s never too late for someone to change their life regardless of where they are, and it is up to all of us to do what we can to support each other in that endeavor.
